I’ve been pushing VRS Tier 2 (fine-granularity shading) in Valorant and CS2 at 240+ FPS, and I’m hitting weird frame-time spikes that are wrecking my consistency—micro-stutters right at round starts where the scene complexity suddenly ramps. Anyone else seeing this, or is it specific to certain maps? I’m curious what shading granularity people actually trust for competitive play, and whether you’ve noticed tier-2 coalescing into tier-1 blocks mid-fight, causing those sudden pop-in artifacts at the edge of your vision.

Více broadly, what are you all treating as the real bottleneck when you’re already GPU-limited at high refresh rates—is it actually the shading cost, or are you seeing memory bandwidth and texture streaming take over? I’m getting peripheral motion smear in the corners of my HUD and crosshair tracking, which kills my flick confidence. How are you isolating whether it’s VRS or just a driver issue—anyone using presentmon or RADS with good results, and what thresholds do you use to decide VRS is worth the tradeoff in a title where every millisecond of reaction time matters?
