I’ve been pushing Nanite-heavy scenes in competitive titles and hitting wall-culls I can’t explain. When Nanite does cluster culling at runtime, is it relying on the hardware rasterizer’s tile-based overhead, or does it maintain its own coarse cluster hierarchy to decide what to ship to the raster stage? 더보기 specifically—how does the LOD distribution system actually budget triangle counts across clusters when camera velocity and screen-space coverage shift frame-to-frame? I’m trying to understand the math behind the distance falloff curve: is it linear in screen space, logarithmic, or something adaptive based on cluster importance values?

Also curious about the software vs hardware rasterizer tradeoff here. In a scene where Nanite streams in massive geometry, does falling back to a software rasterizer actually help with the CPU cluster traversal cost, or does it just bottleneck the whole pipeline? For anyone benchmarking competitive arenas, what triangle budget per frame are you actually running, and where’s the breaking point where Nanite’s virtualized geometry starts costing more in cluster rebuilds than saving in draw calls?
