I’ve been obsessing over my setup for competitive Valorant/CS lately and hit a wall. I switched to 2000 Hz polling, disabled all the firmware motion smoothing, and tried throwing a 1 ms predictor in the raw data path to clean up the jitter. On paper the numbers look insane, but in-game my 180° turns and micro-adjustments feel mushier and less consistent than they did on 500 Hz with smoothing on. The sensor is clearly spitting out noisy data when I move fast, so I’m confused why the ‘raw and fast’ config is actually worse for aim consistency.

Has anyone actually dialed in a predictive/Kalman-style setup the way some pro orgs do at tournaments? I keep reading that smoothing just adds ~1 ms of group delay, but something isn’t clicking for me. Am I chasing the wrong thing, or is there a middle ground between a buttery-smooth-but-lazy feel and this jittery raw output?
