I’ve been running 128-tick on CS2 for the better part of two years, but with Source 2’s subtick model still settling in, I’m trying to understand where the real-world failure modes actually live. When you’re firing across a subtick boundary, how consistent has hit registration been for you at the raw input timestamp level? I’ve noticed that on my end, shots registered a few milliseconds earlier than the visual feedback suggests, and I’m not sure if that’s a prediction-resync artifact or genuine server-side acceptance. Has anyone dug into how micro-tick timestamping interacts with packet aggregation under real congestion—do you see input commands getting bundled in ways that corrupt the ordering, or does the server reliably serialize them per-event?

On the bottleneck side, what’s eating your CPU during a full 128-tick round? I’ve seen spikes when the snapshot broadcast collides with server-side physics simulation, but I haven’t isolated the culprit. Are people mitigating this with tick-aligned input buffering, or is it mostly a matter of pushing the network stack and CPU scheduling? And practically speaking, how do you even reproduce these edge cases for debugging—any tools or replay hooks that expose the raw tick timestamps and hitbox queries so you can correlate client input with server acceptance?
