The way competitive titles handle distance attenuation curves has always been a battleground for me. Some games stick to a strict inverse square law, but I’ve noticed tactical shooters like Valorant and CS2 deliberately flatten the falloff to keep directional cues usable at range. Where do you draw the line between physical accuracy and competitive fairness? And when the Doppler shift is applied to moving sources, does anyone else feel the pitch bend gets too aggressive in games like Battlefield, making it harder to track rather than more immersive?
