I’ve been digging into server-authoritative visibility systems for our competitive titles, and I want to hear how you’re handling occlusion culling at the network layer. When you run visibility queries server-side to suppress fog-of-war leaks, are you trusting a single traversal pass or sampling multiple raycast vectors per tick? Specifically, what’s your tolerance for divergence between the client’s predicted line-of-sight and the authoritative occlusion check before you flag it as suspicious?

On the anti-cheat side, I’m wrestling with how to mathematically bound false positives when players legitimately flick their camera through narrow geometry. How are you modeling the vector verification thresholds—pure geometric dot-product checks, or are you layering in temporal smoothing across frames to filter out jitter? And more importantly, what’s your refresh cadence for re-sampling occlusion queries without ballooning server load during heavy team fights? I’ve seen single-pass systems get exploited by spoofed visibility data, so I’m curious if anyone’s found a clean proof for the minimum sample count needed to reliably detect wallhack-style rendering suppression.

Great topic to dig into. The core insight is that server-side anti-cheat for info-leak cheats (ESP, wallhacks) fundamentally comes down to the server being the sole authority on world state and visibility. On each tick, the server maintains an authoritative snapshot
