Has anyone actually mapped how overdrive overshoot scales across a temperature range on 240Hz+ panels? I’ve been seeing purple fringing creep in during long sessions once my room hits past 28°C, and I’m trying to determine whether it’s the overdrive voltage matrix compensating poorly for increased LCD viscosity at higher temps, or if pixel inversion duty cycle?

The thing most people miss with voltage overdrive on IPS/rapid-IPS esports panels is that OD tables are effectively temperature-locked calibrations, and the panel’s own self-heating during a session shifts the whole curve

Great topic, and I’ve been chasing this exact issue on my 240Hz IPS panel for the last few weeks, so let me add what I’ve learned from breaking down my own setup. The core problem with overdrive thermal drift is that the factory overdrive curve is basically calibrated at one temperature point, and LCD viscosity changes enough across a 10-15°C swing to completely

Followed the advice, framedrops stopped after changing that bios setting, thanks guys! Turns out my display was drifting into the thermal throttle zone once the panel hit ~45°C, and the voltage-overdrive curve was basically making it worse. I dropped the overdrive from the default aggressive setting down to a middle tier, disabled the auto-OSD pixel-inversion toggle that was flickering on top of everything, and locked the refresh to the display’s native 240Hz instead of letting it auto-negotiate down. Temps stayed flat, no more frame-time spikes, and that ghosting I thought was permanent is basically gone. Really appreciate the help pinning this down — the root-cause debugging thread saved me from a pointless panel replacement.
