Picked up a 240Hz TN monitor for CS and the spec sheet looks insane on paper – 0.5ms GTG, aggressive overdrive, all that good stuff. But when I’m tracking moving targets or doing quick flicks, there’s still a visible smear trailing behind enemies, especially in dust maps and smoke fills. It’s driving me up the wall because my buddy’s cheaper 144IPS panel actually looks cleaner to me in motion, even though his numbers are supposedly worse.

I’ve been poking around and people keep throwing around ‘MPRT’ and ‘strobe’ and ULMB like it’s the answer, but I’m not sure if I’m chasing a marketing number or a real fix. Should I just crank overdrive to max, flip on the strobe backlight, or am I misunderstanding what these numbers even measure? What’s the actual way to test what my panel is doing in real motion?
