Alright, let’s get straight into it. I’ve been chasing the truth behind panel response time claims for years, and I’m convinced most of us have been measuring the wrong thing. Here’s my take: GtG benchmarking—especially those factory-reported numbers measured with a fixed photodiode at a single transition—fundamentally misrepresents real-world motion clarity. The numbers look clean on paper, but they ignore the fact that human perception of blur happens during continuous scene motion, not isolated pixel hops. The Busters UFO chase test with pursuit camera tracking is the only methodology I actually trust, because it captures the full rise/fall curve as your eye actually tracks it. So my question is: when you’re evaluating a panel for competitive FPS play, how much weight do you give factory GtG specs versus your own UFO footage? Do you trust the manufacturer’s 1ms Grey-to-Grey claim at all, or do you consider it marketing noise at this point?

Second question—I’m curious how the community views the newer AI-driven motion interpolation and black-frame-insertion hybrids. Are we heading toward a future where GtG is entirely obsolete, or will the pursuit-camera test remain the gold standard regardless of panel architecture?
