Alright, let’s cut to the chase—I’ve been running A/B tests on my 240Hz panel and the color depth settings are messing with my readings. When I push a 1440p 240Hz signal over DisplayPort 1.4 with full RGB 10-bit, I’m right at the bandwidth ceiling and start seeing the scaler engage 8+2 FRC dithering just to hold the refresh rate. Question is: does anyone else have empirical data on whether that FRC dithering actually introduces measurable input latency, or is it purely visual? I’ve read conflicting reports, and my frametime consistency dips slightly when I toggle between 8-bit and 10-bit, which makes me wonder if the GPU’s internal scaler is doing extra work.

Περισσότερα importantly, for competitive play, does the extra chromatic clarity from true 10-bit actually matter when you’re tracking fast-moving targets, or is my brain just convincing itself it’s a performance gain? I’ve noticed some panels handle 10-bit through their hardware scaler while others offload it to the GPU, and I want to know if that scaling path affects frametime stability at 240Hz. Anyone here has benchmarked input lag or frametime variance across these color depth modes? What’s your experience when you’re maxing out bandwidth with a high refresh rate and full RGB—do you prioritize the refresh rate or the color depth, and did you notice any shimmer or artifacting from the dithering during fast camera sweeps?
