I’ve been running controlled benchmarks across Lumen’s screen-space radiance path versus hardware ray traced GI in the same competitive maps, and the frametime variance at 240+ FPS is where things get interesting. My readings show Lumen holding steadier p99 latencies on my setup, but I’m seeing occasional micro-stutters during heavy dynamic lighting transitions. For anyone else pushing tournament-level frame rates—what’s your observed frametime consistency looking like between the two approaches? And does the screen-space angle-of-incidence limit actually bite you in fast-panning competitive scenarios, or is it masked by your refresh rate?

I’m also curious about how these interact with surface cache cards like the Cadence VSI. Does offloading the G-buffer and light accumulation to the cache actually stabilize frame times, or does it just shift the bottleneck elsewhere? On the hardware scaling side, have you seen the RT path catch up to or overtake Lumen once you move to newer generation GPUs with dedicated ray tracing cores? And practically—where’s your usable frame rate floor before the global illumination solution becomes a liability in a competitive setting?
