So I’ve been digging into using DPC and ISR latency spikes as a heuristic for spotting stealth memory scrapers, and I’m genuinely confused about the baseline methodology everyone uses. When you’re monitoring for those subtle kernel-level timing anomalies, are you relying on RDTSC-based timing attacks directly in userland, or are you instrumenting the DPC queue depth from Ring 0? And how do you separate genuine latency from GPU driver interrupts and RGB software polling from actual memory-read bursts? The noise floor on modern Z790 boards is brutal.

On the historical side, the old approach was basically correlating performance counter deltas with process I/O, but that feels completely obsolete against scrapers that page-walk quietly in background threads. What’s actually working today that people aren’t talking about, and what legacy detection methods have you abandoned? I’m also curious whether hardware-assisted tracing like Intel PT or the AMD equivalent is realistically viable for this, or if it’s still too heavy for a competitive rig running at 240Hz. Have any of you actually deployed continuous monitoring without tanking your own frame times?
