Hey everyone, been running Valorant on a fairly high-end rig (5800X3D, 4070 Ti) and I keep seeing people online claim that Riot’s Vanguard kernel-level anti-cheat is eating frames and adding input lag. Honestly I’ve personally noticed my frametimes feeling a bit jitterier in competitive matches than in casual, and I’m not sure if that’s Vanguard or just my other background stuff. The thing that bugs me is that even after I stopped running other software, there’s still this subtle inconsistency in the low 1% lows during intense firefights. Before I go uninstalling it (which obviously means I can’t play), I wanted to ask people who actually understand what these kernel drivers are doing at a technical level — is there real overhead here, or am I chasing ghosts? Any tips on how to measure it properly would be huge.
