I’ve been running custom in-ear monitors at tournaments for the past two seasons and I’m hitting some real questions about acoustic behavior under stage conditions. When you’re dealing with a live crowd and stage monitoring mixes bleeding in, how much of your isolation is coming from the silicone seal versus the driver architecture itself? I’ve read that ear canal resonance can amplify certain frequencies depending on your canal geometry, but every player’s anatomy’s different — do you tune your custom molds to compensate for that, or do you lean on an EQ curve in your engine? And what’s your actual strategy for blocking low-frequency stage rumble without losing positional cues in-game?

On the system side, how are you handling the monitor mix at the engine level? I’m running a dedicated audio bus for my IEM feed separate from the game mix, and I want to know if anyone’s benchmarking latency between the stage wireless link and actual in-ear delivery. What’s your measured round-trip latency, and have you noticed any phase issues between the two drivers that throw off stereo imaging during critical flicks? Curious what real-world numbers people are pulling.
