Been playing in some local tournaments lately and I keep hearing the crowd noise in the casters’ feed and my teammates’ headsets. The moment the crowd goes wild during a clutch, everyone’s mic turns into a wash of screaming fans. I tried just moving away from the stage and cranking my noise-suppression in the streaming software, but it’s chopping off parts of my voice and making me sound robotic. My booth isn’t soundproofed, it’s just a plastic popup shield, so the actual stadium PA is clearly getting into the diaphragm.

I’ve been reading that some orgs use hardware ANC and bandpass filtering on the voice channel to kill the bleed before it even hits the software stack. Does that actually work better than just relying on Krisp or similar noise cancellation plugins? What’s the cheapest way to pull this off without buying a whole studio setup? Anyone here run a rig like this at bigger events?
