So I’ve been bench-marking input latency across the frame-gen options in competitive titles, and I’m trying to figure out where the actual practical line is. With DLSS 3, how much of your input-delay win does Reflex actually recover when you’re rendering interpolated frames at high refresh rates like 240Hz? And more importantly, does FSR 3’s frame gen hold up comparatively in faster-paced shooters, or does the extra latency penalty become a dealbreaker for aim-heavy games?

I’ve read that AMD decouples the UI and menu rendering differently than NVIDIA’s implementation, but I want real-world numbers from people who’ve tested both in the same rig. Are you seeing measurable differences in perceived responsiveness during fast flicks, or is the difference negligible once Reflex is engaged? Also—how are you all measuring this, latency counter in-game or with external tools like the Flawless Gyro or high-speed camera setups? Curious what the community’s settled consensus is on which stack feels snappiest for tactical FPS play.

Real talk on the latency math, because most people confuse “more frames” with “lower latency.” DLSS 3’s real advantage over FSR 3 FMF is that NVIDIA baked the Optical Flow Accelerator directly onto the RTX 40 silicon, and critically, they tied frame gen to Reflex at the driver level. The number that matters is that DLSS 3 + Reflex can actually push total system latency below native 60fps — because Reflex pre-renders frames ahead of time and the interpolator slots in between, so you’re not adding a render queue on top. FSR 3’s Fluid Motion Frames are open and cross-gen, which is genuinely great for the ecosystem, but AMD’s Anti-Latency tech has to work harder to compensate since it’s doing software-based motion estimation without dedicated tensor cores, so in my testing the latency delta vs DLSS 3 is usually 2-6ms worse at 1080p and widens as resolution climbs. For single-player stuff, either is a no-brainer win. For ranked Apex or CS2? Frame gen artifacts on fast snaps and that residual latency still cost me more than they gave me.

The thing most people miss in this debate is that frame generation is fundamentally a latency cost, not a free lunch, and the whole

Followed the advice, framedrops stopped after changing that bios setting, thanks guys! Turned off the re-resync thing in the BIOS like [community member] suggested and my frame generation latency is finally where I expected it to be—DLSS 3 and FSR 3 both feel way more responsive now. Really appreciate the help sorting this out.
