I’ve been benching DisplayPort 2.1 at UHBR20 (80 Gbps) against HDMI 2.1 (48 Gbps) on my 4K 240Hz panel, and I’m chasing that last mile of frametime consistency for ranked. Both advertise DSC, but I want real-world data: when you run UHBR20 with 4:4:4 chroma at max refresh, have you measured any residual DSC artifacts in fast-moving scenes—muzzle flashes, particle effects, or text during HUD transitions—or does the compression stay truly lossless at 10-bit? Meer importantly, how do frametimes compare between the two interfaces when pushing 240fps? I’ve seen HDMI 2.1 drop to UHBR13.5 equivalents in practice, and I’m not sure whether that’s the spec or the panel’s scaler.

Do you trust DSC for competitive play where split-second visual clarity matters, or do you prefer disabling it and taking the refresh penalty? What PSU and cable pairing are you running to hold UHBR20 stable, and has anyone calibrated frametime variance across both ports on the same GPU? Any scaling differences between the GPU’s internal scaler versus the monitor’s hardware scaler worth chasing here?
