Hey everyone. My crew is heading to a CS2 LAN next month on a 240 Hz panel and one of the players who’s played pro events kept talking about how the org teams tune DPC latency before matches — timeBeginPeriod(0.1), turning on MSI-X on the driver, bumping the thread priority up. I’ve been running LatencyMon myself and my idle numbers are all over the place, like 300-800 µs spikes on random background stuff, and I swear I notice micro-stutters in the gut of a round when Discord or RGB software is humming along.

I’m genuinely trying to figure out if any of this actually moves the needle for competitive play or if we’re just chasing ghost numbers. The org setup reportedly got ISR under 6 µs and 99th percentile DPC latency around 9 µs, which sounds insane compared to my daily driver. What’s actually doing the heavy lifting here, and is there anything a regular player can do without turning their rig into a lab experiment?
