I’ve spent countless hours tweaking interpolation buffers and rollback nets across titles, but I keep hitting the same wall on how teams actually tune server reconciliation under real-world variance. When you’re dealing with tick-rate mismatches between client and authoritative server, how do you balance aggressive local prediction against the visual pop that comes from aggressive correction? I’ve seen some orgs lean hard on client-side rewind and only snap to server state on meaningful divergence, but I’ve also seen folks prefer softer, interpolated approaches to minimize that rubber-banding feeling. What’s your actual approach to the reconciliation window, and do you ever tune it dynamically based on measured RTT?

On the jitter side, I’m curious how you handle packet disorder and out-of-order arrival without introducing artificial latency. Some engines use a fixed delay, others adaptive damping—what’s worked best for you when you’ve got bursty network conditions? And regarding legacy methods: how many of you are still running older fixed-tick architectures versus fully dynamic tick systems, and what pushed you to migrate? I’m particularly interested in whether anyone has experimented with future-forward designs like deterministic lockstep or server-side rollback with input buffering, and what real competitive results you saw. Jaa your war stories.
