I’ve been digging into how competitive shooters reconcile root motion with server-authoritative kinematics without introducing input lag, and I’m hitting a wall. When you use inertial blending between locomotion states, how do you keep the client-side predicted pose aligned with the server’s movement at 64Hz tick rates? I keep getting micro-stutters when a player transitions sprint-to-idle mid-stride, and I suspect it’s a mismatch between the root motion transform and the server’s position interpolation. Does anyone have a clean way to anchor the root bone to the server tick without visible snapping?
