Fortnite Is About To Sell Half of an Elle Fanning Skin in the Item Shop

Fortnite’s final new collaboration of this year’s Halloween season is with Predator: Badlands, and it features the first Predator skin ever offered outside the permanently locked Chapter 2 Season 5 battle pass. The set’s main draw may actually be its back bling, which is the upper half of Thia, the Weyland-Yutani android played by Elle Fanning, who spends most of the film strapped to the protagonist’s back. The entire Predator: Badlands set arrives in the Fortnite shop on October 28 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET.

This is exactly what fans of Dan Trachtenberg’s film have been hoping for since the collaboration was first announced last month. A new Yautja (the in-universe name for the Predator species) skin was known to be coming, but it wasn’t until the cosmetics were granted to content creators on Wednesday that the Thia back bling was revealed. In the film, a damaged Thia, torn in half on a hostile planet by a legendary alien beast called the Kalisk, teams up with a young Yautja named Dek to survive the monsters and other, more insidious threats lurking around the place.

Since Thia spends much of the film on Dek’s back, she makes perfect sense as a back bling. Still, she’s an extremely unusual one—it’s only the second time a human-shaped body has been used as a back bling, after the similar C-3PO one from 2024, and one of only three back blings to use a real person’s likeness, after the Lil Tecca plushie and the Tyler the Creator doll.

The Thia back bling is tagged as reactive, meaning it should move or make some kind of noise in response to actions you take during a match. But it may be bugged right now, since these cosmetics have already been granted to content creators like PIZ0 and VALtheVAL, and it doesn’t seem to do anything in videos those creators have posted so far.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 and the Fortnitemares event both wrap up on Halloween night, with the new One Piece-themed mini-season kicking off on Sunday, November 1.
