A heartwarming (and slightly awkward) saga is unfolding online, centering around a dedicated Disneyland fan and the former actor who portrayed Peter Pan. While the internet has been quick to label the situation as “stalking,” one former cast member is stepping in to defend the enthusiastic attendee.
The Dedicated Fan
Dylan Gadeke, who brought the magic of Peter Pan to life at Disneyland from 2014 to 2021, has found himself at the heart of a viral online discussion. The focus? A devoted fan known as “babytoni99,” whose regular appearances and interactions with various Peter Pan actors have captured (and divided) the internet’s attention. Toni’s passion for Disney is undeniable; she documents her visits extensively on social media, sharing photos and videos multiple times a month.
While many appreciate Toni’s enthusiasm, some viewers have taken issue with her behavior towards the Peter Pan actors. Two of her videos, in particular, have sparked considerable backlash. One, a five-minute-long video on TikTok, shows Toni gifting a crocheted keychain to one actor and following him around the park. The interaction is undeniably awkward, with the actor appearing visibly uncomfortable. Commenters joked about the situation, while others criticized Toni’s behavior as “weird” and urged her to let other guests enjoy the characters.
Another video, posted on Instagram, compiles various clips of Toni interacting with different Peter Pan actors over the past decade. While she doesn’s seem fixated on any single performer, but rather a general love for the character itself.
The Former Actor Speaks Out
The situation escalated when Dylan Gadeke, one of the former Peter Pan actors featured in Toni’s videos, took to TikTok on August 17th to share his perspective. Surprisingly, Gadeke didn’t condemn Toni; instead, he defended her from the wave of negative comments that had flooded the internet. He acknowledged that her behavior made him feel “a little awkward and uncomfortable,” but emphasized that she never crossed any boundaries.
“She was very enthusiastic about meeting the character — maybe a little more so than most — but it never crossed the boundary of trying to get to know the performer,” Gadeke explained. He urged viewers to end the “harassment” and “online toxicity” directed at Toni, stating, “She’s doing nothing wrong. She’s acting within all the guidelines of what a guest should do at Disneyland.”
Gadeke concluded by suggesting that viewers simply ignore Toni’s posts: “The best thing you can do with personalities that are a little extra is cut off their supply to attention. So stop the likes, stop the comments, stop the sharing or the reposts.”
A Stalker?
Despite Gadeke’s defense, some viewers remain unconvinced. His mention of “another stalker” in his video sparked further debate, with commenters questioning whether he was implicitly acknowledging that Toni’s behavior constitutes stalking. This comment only fueled the online discussion and intensified the scrutiny surrounding Toni’s actions.
Toni herself has largely remained silent throughout the controversy, posting her usual stream of Disney-themed content. She did upload one short video to TikTok on August 5th, dancing to Beyoncé’s “Partition” with the caption, “When people ask how I got a five-minute video with a lost boy at Disney.”
The situation highlights the complexities of fan interactions and the blurred lines between enthusiasm and obsession. Whether Toni’s behavior is harmless admiration or something more problematic remains open to interpretation, but one thing is certain: her story has captivated (and divided) the internet.
