Valor Mortis is now officially turning a profit for developer One Mer Level and publisher Lyrical Spill, according to an announcement by the latter on social media. The game broke even within just one week of launch, meaning all development costs have been recouped; from now on, sales are generating profit.

Official sales figures have not been released, but anecdotally there appears to be considerably more discussion surrounding Valor Mortis than there was for the two Ghostrunner titles One Mer Level previously developed.
“We are beyond proud to announce that Valor Mortis has officially reached a break-even point in just 7 days,” the studio said on social media. “This incredible milestone wouldn’t be possible without YOU. Thank you for answering the Emperor’s call and believing in our vision!”
It is also worth noting that the developer deliberately chose not to allow pre-orders before launch. It wanted the final product to speak for itself and let players decide whether it was worth the $40 price point. Clearly, many people felt it was.
We share that sentiment, as our 8/10-rated Valor Mortis PS5 review stated: “With strong combat and impressive level design, its well worth your time and investment, especially considering the reduced price point.”
One Mer Level has confirmed that a Valor Mortis expansion will arrive at some point in 2027, so there is more to come from this promising new IP. Are you enjoying what you’ve played? Let us know in the comments below.
