Square Enix has officially confirmed that its beloved Final Fantasy 15 crossover, the Nocturne for Heroes event, is returning to Eorzea in Final Fantasy XIV. The limited-time collaboration will be available once more after players last experienced it back in 2024, marking the first revival of the fan-favorite event in over two years. Warriors of Light can begin the questline on September 24, 2026 at 1:00 a.m. PDT, with just a few weeks to collect all rewards before the event concludes on October 13, 2026 at 7:59 a.m. PDT.

The Nocturne for Heroes crossover first launched in 2021 and returned again in 2024, so players should not expect another chance to experience it soon after this year’s revival ends. The questline follows the Warrior of Light aiding Noctis, the protagonist of Final Fantasy 15, as they work together through a story that fans have grown to love. This makes this year’s event particularly important for those who missed previous runs or want to collect rewards they never secured before.

How to Access the Returning Event

Players can start the crossover by picking up the quest “The Man in Black” from Kipih Jakkya in Ul’dah, located near the Steps of Nald. Those who have completed the quests in previous years can simply speak to the NPC to use the seasonal event replay feature, allowing returning veterans to quickly revisit their favorite moments without starting over.

However, not everyone will be able to jump straight into the adventure. Players must have a character that is at least level 50 and must have completed the main scenario quest “The Ultimate Weapon” before they can begin the event. This requirement ensures players are sufficiently progressed through the game’s content before diving into the crossover storyline.

Limited-Time Rewards Await

The event will feature a generous selection of limited-time items to collect, with the standout reward being the Regalia Type-G mount. This highly coveted vehicle continues to be one of the MMO’s best mounts and can be purchased for 200,000 MGP from the Ironworks Vendor. Beyond this flagship item, players have plenty more to chase throughout their time in the event.

The Nocturne for Heroes event first ran in 2021 and returned in 2024, so don’t expect that you’ll be able to play it again anytime soon after this year’s revival concludes.

Final Fantasy XIV Event Details

The quest rewards include the complete Lucian Prince outfit set: the Jacket, Fingerless Glove, Bottoms, and Boots. Players seeking cosmetic customization can grab the Modern Aesthetics — Lucian Locks hairstyle for 20,000 MGP at the Ironworks Vendor, while those interested in card gameplay can collect the Noctis Lucis Caelum Card for 10,000 MGP.

Musical enthusiasts will appreciate the extensive collection of Orchestration Rolls available through the event. Six tracks can be acquired by exchanging Unidentified Magitek at the Ironworks Hand: Hammerhead Orchestration Roll, Valse di Fantastica Orchestration Roll, Relax and Reflect Orchestration Roll, Veiled in Black Orchestration Roll, Apocalypsis Noctis Orchestration Roll, and A Quick Pit Stop Orchestration Roll. These rewards provide players with plenty of reasons to grind through the event’s content.

A Platform Surprise for Returning Players

If this isn’t your first time tackling the event, you might want to try playing it on the Switch 2, which may unexpectedly be one of the best places to play the MMO. This platform consideration adds another layer to how players approach revisiting the crossover, especially those who enjoy mobile or handheld gaming experiences.

The Nocturne for Heroes event has consistently been a highlight for Final Fantasy XIV’s community, drawing in both longtime fans of the broader franchise and newcomers curious about the crossover content. With rewards that range from practical mounts to collectible outfits and music tracks, this year’s revival offers something for nearly every type of player.

As always with these limited-time collaborations, players should prioritize their goals before the event concludes on October 13, 2026. Those who have already secured the Regalia Type-G mount may want to focus on completing the full Lucian Prince outfit set or gathering all six Orchestration Rolls, while newcomers might prioritize the most sought-after rewards first. With only a few weeks available and no guarantee of another run for some time, now is the moment to dive back into Eorzea’s Noctis crossover.
