Since its debut last June, Square Enix has been actively championing the Switch 2, and this week it unveils its most ambitious title yet: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
Following the escape from Midgar, the sequel propels Cloud and his companions across vast, newly crafted landscapes, promising fresh quests and even a return of the beloved chocobos.
For those who haven’t yet experienced it, an eShop demo is available now, showcasing the first two chapters of the sequel. Progress made in the demo will carry over to the full release on 3 June 2026, and players with save data from Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade – both main story and Intermission – will receive additional bonuses.
Analysis: The scheduled launch date positions Rebirth to capture the holiday market, while the cross‑save feature strengthens player retention across the franchise’s evolving titles.
