Following EA’s closure of BioWare and the cancellation of Mass Effect 5, Archetype Entertainment—co-founded by former BioWare developers Chad Robertson, James Ohlen, and Drew Karpyshyn—has unveiled a fresh look at its upcoming title, a distinctly Mass-Effect-flavored sci-fi RPG called Exodus.

Archetype has specifically revealed a visual overhaul of its male player-character model. When GameSpot previewed Exodus in late August, the male version of protagonist Jun Aslan could be seen with a five-o’clock shadow and a markedly different bone structure. Now, he has an entirely new face. In a new video posted to Archetype’s YouTube channel today, general manager Chad Robertson showcased male-Jun’s updated look, which he said resulted from player feedback.
“We’ve seen your conversations and feedback over the last few months around our male Jun character model,” Robertson said. “We’ve been listening, and we take that feedback seriously. We’ve continued to refine Jun as we’ve worked on him and the rest of the game.”
Archetype has not yet revealed Jun’s female character model, but the developers say a reveal is coming.
“Is FemJun on your mind?” a new post on the official Exodus website asks. “Ours too! And we’re happy to say yes, she’s coming… soon™. We’ve got something special cooking for her reveal, and we think it’ll be worth the wait.”
Exodus launches on April 7, 2027 and is available to wishlist now on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Steam, and the Epic Giochi Store.
