Cyberpunk 2077‘s new 2.5 patch is coming because CD Projekt Red cannot help itself when it comes to adding new stuff to the six-year-old game. The new update comes just after the new season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II premiered on Netflix, and as revealed in leaks beforehand, will include content based on the new anime series. The patch will go live on October 22, though CD Projekt Red says the Switch 2 version may come later than other platforms.

The studio held a REDstreams broadcast to run through what’s new, which you can watch below. If you just want to read the highlights, scroll on:
A new Edgerunners-themed quest
CD Projekt Red didn’t go into much detail in order to avoid spoilers, but the developers confirmed that a new quest is coming to Cyberpunk 2077, which will act as a prequel to Edgerunners‘ second season. Characters from the show will appear in it, voice-acted by the same actors you’ll hear in the anime.
An Edgerunners radio station
If you’re riding around Night City and listening to the radio, Cyberpunk 2077 is now getting an Edgerunners station featuring songs from both seasons of the show.
Console mod support
Mods are coming to PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S. This comes via a partnership with mod.io, and while there will be “some limitations,” you’ll be able to access, search for, and download mods in-game. Más mods will be made available over time. CD Projekt Red warns against installing too many at once, however, as it might “destabilize” the game.
Some tech optimizations and other new settings
On the tech side, the Mac version of Cyberpunk 2077 is getting some requested optimizations while console versions will receive field-of-view settings. DLSS 4.5 support is also coming to the game.
Night City Tours
Another quest coming to the game is a Night City “tour” that lets players can learn about the city’s history, though it’s guided by founder Richard Night, who may give V a skewed understanding of things. CDPR described it as a “cozy” quest that is more about lore than anything else. There is some underlying mystery to be solved in the quest, however.
Dual-wielding
Cyberpunk 2077 is adding dual-wielding as a skill in the skill tree, which will let you hold two pistols or revolvers in combat. Dual-wielding will have its own perks in the skill tree that you can build a new playstyle around. No dual-wielding shotguns or rifles, though.
Photo Mode updates
As part of the dual-wielding update, some new poses are coming to Photo Mode to let you take shots of V using two guns at once.
Cyberware customization
The patch is also adding new ways to customize V’s cyberware, with 40 new looks to choose from, each with different color and visual variants that you can alter. Different glamdocs will offer different options.
New clothes
V can get some new fits including some based on Edgerunners characters, similar to how the last Edgerunners update let them wear David’s coat.
New Tarot cards
In Cyberpunk 2077, you can find Tarot cards around the city, and now several more have been added to the game for you to find. CD Projekt Red is also releasing a physical set of Tarot cards based on the art in the game.
Twitch drops
CD Projekt Red also confirmed it’s adding five sets of clothing to the base game that were previously obtainable through Twitch drops. Now that those are in the game, new Twitch drops are coming in the form of cosmetics for vehicles.
That’s it for update 2.5. Will this actually be the last patch for the game? Who’s to say? CD Projekt Red loves to drop some new free stuff without warning. The full patch notes are as follows:
