After years in Early Access, survival-RPG Enshrouded is set to launch its fully finished version on October 15 on PC, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 5 Pro, with an Xbox Series X|S version planned for spring 2027.
The long-anticipated 1.0 release will take the game’s blend of survival RPG and world-crafting sim to a new level, promising answers about the origins of the Shroud—a poisonous mist that blankets the land—and what led to the fall of Embervale. The update also teases new enemies, biomes, and gameplay improvements.

In Enshrouded, players must reclaim a kingdom consumed by the Shroud, a deadly fog that drains life force and will eventually kill anyone who lingers too long. Ancient ruins, hidden cultures, and scattered secrets lie beyond the mist, requiring grappling hooks, gliders, and careful time management to reach safely.
The world is not random—everything was placed on purpose—and tackling the task alone can be dangerous. Up to sixteen players on PC and eight on PS5 can share a single world at once.

Team Up and Entdecken
Players need not all work toward the same goal. One can build while another explores and a third farms for resources, each contributing to reclaiming Embervale. There is no role in an Enshrouded co-op session that operates outside the loop.
This flexibility extends to survival systems: hunting, fishing, animal husbandry, and farming all sit alongside combat as ways to obtain resources and upgrades. A player who wants to spend a session cultivating plants and taming animals is playing the game rather than working around it.

The World Is Yours
Though its world can be harsh, Enshrouded‘s brutal setting is softened by cozy sim impulses—an action-RPG for players who might spend most of their time building pirate ships in a lagoon or a fortress atop a steep cliff.
The world is fully terraformable, so bases can go underwaterfalls, inside mountains, and even expand into miniature cities. Dynamic water—added during Early Access as a technical feat for a voxel-based game—opened up new possibilities for construction.
Recreated real-world castles, underground cities, and other creations demonstrate how the adventure-sharing feature lets every player’s work become fresh content for someone else.
From Building to Buildcrafting
Combat runs on a skill-based system backed by an upgrade tree deep enough to support diverse builds. Greatswords, magic, and hybrid archetypes offer broad specialization options without punishing unconventional choices.
Escalating enemies test committed builds as characters grow more capable, but players can tune difficulty to preference—letting a master builder enjoy low-pressure sessions while combat enthusiasts raise the challenge.
This flexibility has helped Enshrouded earn an 87% positive rating on Steam. Mehr than five million users played during Early Access, and community feedback from tens of thousands of hours resulted in reworked combat dynamics, performance optimizations, and system overhauls.
The game has released eight major updates over the past two years to address pain points alongside its community. Its final boss, the Fell Dragon Youngling, was fine-tuned to make the climactic encounter more memorable, while gliding, fishing, and pets are receiving fan-requested enhancements in the upcoming release.
Enshrouded 1.0 brings improved graphics and performance alongside combat and gameplay revisions drawn from that feedback cycle.
