If you’ve finished Night City and are looking for your next fix of futuristic dystopia, Polygon’s Wishlister newsletter has rounded up eight titles that capture the mood — whether through full-blown cyberpunk aesthetics or a similar dark, corporate-soaked atmosphere.

The list acknowledges that CD Projekt Red didn’t invent neon-lit futures. The developer of Cyberpunk 2077, which recently benefited from the re-release of its game The Witcher 3, has plenty of company in the genre.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Set in 2029, this title follows Adam Jensen as he tries to stop rogue arms dealers from selling weapons and augmentations. A group of mercenaries in gold masks crashes the deal, turning things into a firefight.

The story involves the Illuminati, an underground hacker group, and Prague — where players duck through subway stations and sneak into corporate offices. Available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Watch Dogs: Legion

In London under an authoritarian surveillance state, the hacker syndicate DedSec must clear its name after being framed for bombings by a group called Zero Day.

The game lets players recruit virtually anyone on the street rather than controlling a single defined protagonist. It shares hacking, stealth, and gunplay with Cyberpunk 2077 but drops the RPG elements. Available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

This medieval fantasy follows monster hunter Geralt of Rivia searching for his daughter Ciri, who possesses powers desired by a ghostly army. It shares Cyberpunk 2077’s developer but trades futuristic dystopia for dark fantasy.

The Ascent

Players work as an indentured laborer in a city-sized tower run by the Ascent Group mega-corporation until it suddenly goes bankrupt. The game uses a top-down isometric view and offers neon-lit gunfights on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Cloudpunk

This title casts players as Rania, a mail carrier for an illicit delivery service navigating a vertical sci-fi city. There’s no combat — the focus is purely on deliveries while uncovering corruption. Available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Ghostwire: Tokyo

Akito survives a fatal bike crash after being possessed by a spectral detective named KK. Together they investigate an occultist’s fog that turns people into piles of clothes. Available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.

Observer

This first-person psychological horror game follows neural detective Daniel Lazarski as he jacks into the minds of building residents — including the dead — to investigate a murder while a digital plague called the nanophage ravages the world. Available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

VA-11 HALL-A

Players serve as Jill Stingray, a bartender at a dive bar in Glitch City where nanomachines control every facet of life. The intimate story focuses on the regulars who sit at your bar rather than saving the world. Available on PC, PS4, and Switch.

The collection suggests that while none of these games will replace Night City, they offer other dystopian worlds to explore — trading corporate conspiracies for occult ones, or swapping V for a bartender.
