IGN was on the ground at Disney’s ultimate fan celebration, bringing you the biggest news, exclusive content, and deep dives all weekend. Tonight, the show kicked off with the Disney Entertainment showcase, featuring reveals from the next two years of Disney’s theatrical and streaming slate, potentially including news about X-Men, Star Wars, Frozen 3, and more.
Highlights from the Showcase
The D23 Entertainment Showcase delivered a whirlwind of announcements. We saw a new trailer for Disney+’s LEGO Mandarlorian animated special, a look at a new Avatar ride at Disney’s California Adventure, and a first glimpse at Mystique and Nightcrawler’s costumes from Avengers: Doomsday. The show also featured more surprises throughout the evening.
The X-Men cast was revealed during the #D23 Entertainment Showcase, featuring Inde Navarrette, Adam Driver, Maya Boyd, and more. The highlight? Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister!
Frozen 3: A Glimpse into Arendelle
Kristen Bell (Anna) and Idina Menzel (Elsa) took the stage to promote Frozen 3, coming in Fall 2027. They started with a song before discussing the film’s themes: “The world of Frozen 3 is a bit different… maybe more mysterious.” Anna is getting married to Kristoff, and Olaf will have a love interest named Samantha.
A sneak peek revealed Elsa wearing a beautiful gown, Anna, Kristoff, and crew showing up on the lake. A portal opens into an ice world, revealing another woman with ice powers. “Look what the northern lights dragged in,” she says.
Hexed: Hailee Steinfeld and Walton Goggins Introduce Magic
Hailee Steinfeld and Walton Goggins presented Hexed, an animated film where Steinfeld plays Billie, a witch who discovers her powers. “If there’s one thing Disney is known for, it’s bringing the magic,” she said.
Goggins played a green, three-eyed cat, and Jodie Foster voiced the Witch Queen. The movie comes to theaters this November.
Clay: A New Mentor Story
“What if the next Disney mentor stunk?” Bush joked about Clay, where Flip (Kieran Culkin) is chosen as a mentor but ends up with Mushi, a ball of clay. Mushi is slated for a November 2028 release.
Zootopia 3 Confirmed!
Zootopia 3 is officially in the works! Jared Bush announced it at the D23 Entertainment panel, promising “feathery fliers” and all the characters fans love. The sequel to one of 2025’s biggest movies and Disney’s most successful animated movie ever is a go.
Ryan Gosling’s Star Wars: Starfighter Character Revealed
Ryan Gosling joined director Shawn Levy to talk about Star Wars: Starfighter, coming out May 2027. The story takes place in a period of time never shown in Star Wars before.
“I owe a lot to Disney,” Gosling said. “Had they not looked far and wide and come to my hometown I would not be here today.”
Gosling’s character is named Kade Auberon, a guy from the wrong side of the galaxy whose fate is intertwined with the fastest starfighter ever built.
The debut trailer for Star Wars: Starfighter showed a young kid opening a garage with a decommissioned ship. Gosling’s character says there’s a reason it was decommissioned, followed by a montage of action sequences.
Hayden Christiansen and Rosario Dawson on Ahsoka Season 2
Hayden Christiansen (Anakin), Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka), and Eman Esfandi teased the next season of Ahsoka. “It’s always an honor to play Anakin,” Christiansen said. “He continues to advise Ahsoka, challenging her.”
“Ezra is back,” Esfandi added. “He’s reunited with his Rebel family and fighting for the New Republic against the Imperial remnant.” Ahsoka Season 2 streams this January on Disney+.
Full X-Men Cast Revealed!
The full cast of the new MCU X-Men movie was revealed at D23, including Inde Navarrette, Adam Driver, Maya Boyd, and more. Sadie Sink will play Jean Grey, Kit Connor is Cyclops, Christopher Abbott is Professor Charles Xavier, Maya Boyd is Storm, Samara Weaving is Emma Frost, Inde Navarette is Rogue, and Adam Driver is Mr. Sinister.

Adam Driver has been cast as Mister Sinister in the MCU, it was announced during an X-Men segment of the D23 Entertainment panel.
Avengers: Doomsday – A New Trailer!
Hugh Jackman, Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, and Robert Downey Jr. presented a new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. The trailer showed Dr. Doom on a throne, Sue Storm’s voiceover, Ian McKellen’s Magneto, Channing Tatum’s Gambit, Shuri, Shang-Chi, and Thor.
Pedro Pascal plays Mr. Fantastic, who asks Doom, “Did you do this?” Then, we see Steve Rogers with a baby, Loki, Shuri, James Marsden’s Cyclops. Thor is scrapping with Doom but Doom easily disarms him. Next, we see an army of Sentinels.
Kevin Feige, Paul Bettany, and James Spader on VisionQuest
Kevin Feige, Paul Bettany (Vision), and James Spader (Ultron) talked about the upcoming series VisionQuest, premiering this October on Disney+. The trailer showed Ultron in human form.
“It’s been an enormous joy playing Vision as he’s evolved over the years,” Bettany said. “He’s helped turn the tide in some enormous battles.”
“Frankly I can’t believe it took you so long to turn to me,” Spader added. “Everyone knows Ultron has long been fascinated by humanity.”
Jon Favreau Introduces Oswald Animated Miniseries
Jon Favreau introduced the Oswald animated miniseries, based on a character Walt Disney created before Mickey Mouse. The three-part series comes to Disney+ this February.
“It’s coming to Disney+ as a three-part miniseries this February,” Favreau said. “The story is set in many historic locations Disney fans will know.”
Favreau also teased his NatGeo miniseries Lion, following a pride over four years. Hans Zimmer is doing the score.
A First Look at the Upcoming Bluey Movie
A new trailer for the upcoming Bluey movie, premiering in August 2027, was shown. The film will continue the adventures of Bingo and Bluey.
Tangled Live-Action Movie Gets a 2028 Release Date
Kathryn Hahn (Agatha All Along) announced that the Tangled live-action movie, where she plays Mother Gothel, will be released on March 31, 2028. She described it as “stunning, hilarious, fab, and kind.”
Ice Age: Boiling Point Gets a Trailer
Queen Latifah and Denis Leary presented Ice Age: Boiling Point, where Scrat is back with a baby acorn. The mammoths are back, along with Sid the sloth. The movie hits theaters February 2027.
The Jonas Brothers Hype Up Camp Rock 3
Nick, Joe, and Kevin Jonas promoted Camp Rock 3, which just debuted on Disney+. “We are so pumped to be back where it all started,” they said. The show features a new generation of campers and the chance to go on tour.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians Cast Teases Season 3
The cast of the Disney+ adaptation of Percy Jackson teased Season 3, premiering on November 20. They also introduced Athena and Hera, played by Ming Na Wen. “The family politics are impossible to ignore,” Wen said.
Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino Give an Update on Romy and Michele 2
Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino presented Romy and Michele 2, where they reprise their roles as Romy and Michele. They’re opening a boutique in Beverly Hills and looking for love. “Maybe we’ll find true love here at D23,” they joked.
