Diablo 4 players are now equipping full sets of Mythic Unique gear at once — a sight the game has never before seen — thanks to a crafting trick that may or may not be an intentional oversight from Blizzard. The exploit emerged during Season 15, Hell’s Legacy, and works by combining three identical Mythic Uniques in the Horadric Cube using the Recycle Uniques recipe to produce a fresh version of the item that no longer carries the “crafted” tag. Because that tag is what normally limits players to a single self-made Mythic at a time, bypassing it lets dedicated players stack as many of their own creations as they can afford to build, all while spending Resplendent Sparks. Whether this is a deliberate design choice or a genuine bug remains unresolved, and the answer could shape how Blizzard approaches the game’s next update.
The controversy traces back to Season 14, when Blizzard introduced the “crafted” item tag to Mythic Uniques produced through the Horadric Cube, Blacksmith, or Jeweler. Under that system, players could only have one crafted Mythic equipped at any given time, no matter how many Resplendent Sparks they had available to forge more. The change forced players to rely on luck for natural Mythic drops instead of crafting them, and the response was swift and negative.
A Season of Rollbacks
The backlash was significant enough that Blizzard walked the change back mid-season, and the latest patch has pushed the policy further. Mythics now created by the Blacksmith or Jeweler are no longer flagged as “crafted,” while those produced through the cube still retain the restriction. That restoration means players can once again equip multiple self-made Mythics simultaneously, mirroring the flexibility of earlier seasons. Yet the cube remains the loophole: three of the same Mythic Unique can be recycled into a new version that sidesteps the tag entirely, opening the door to full-set builds.
Players are running around with full sets of Mythic gear, something we’ve never seen before in Diablo 4. This would be a huge problem and could completely break the game in many ways, if it weren’t harder to do than it sounds.

That caveat about difficulty is the crux of the debate. Each recycled Mythic costs 15 Resplendent Sparks to produce, and outfitting all 12 gear slots would demand a staggering 180 Sparks — a toll that most players would find nearly impossible to reach without an extraordinary amount of grinding and farming. The effort has nonetheless drawn the attention of the game’s most devoted content creators, including Wudijo, who has demonstrated the full build in practice. For the average player, the trick is more of a theoretical possibility than a practical one, which is what keeps the “intentional or oversight” question alive.
Looking Ahead
Diablo 4’s next update is slated for September 29, but the 3.2.2 patch notes make no mention of this crafting trick, focusing instead on bug fixes. That silence leaves the door open for Blizzard to address the loophole in a future patch if they decide it warrants one. Season 15 has otherwise been well-received after the largely unpopular Season 14, with the season finally reintroducing Diablo as a playable presence — players can now relive past Prime Evil encounters from previous Diablo games and interact with the legendary Deckard Cain.
Looking further out, Diablo 4 will not receive new expansions going forward, though a new class, the Amazon, is set to arrive in the first half of next year. Meanwhile, Blizzard remains hard at work on Diablo 5, which is scheduled for release in 2029 and has already revealed three of its playable classes. Until then, the crafting debate continues to dominate the community, with players weighing whether full-set Mythic builds represent a beloved return to form or a subtle crack in the game’s balance.
