Dead by Daylight features dozens of characters, including many licensed heroes and villains from beloved horror franchises, but every once in a while, some of them get delisted. Behaviour Interactive has revealed that Chucky will soon suffer such a fate; he’s being delisted on November 24 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET. Until then, players can grab him and any related cosmetics on sale.

Chucky, whose in-game nickname is The Good Guy, debuted in Dead by Daylight in November 2023. Like all characters, he came with three unique perks, all of which will stay in the game after he’s gone, Behaviour said.
Anyone who has purchased Chucky will retain access to him, as well as any of his alternate skins, like the Tiffany alternate skin voiced by Jennifer Tilly and based on Chucky’s wife, Tiffany. For players who own the Chucky DLC, his perks will keep their established names, while anyone who doesn’t unlock the DLC before it disappears from all platforms will see his perks change names. You can read those name changes below:
- Hex: Two Can Play will be called Hex: Eye For An Eye
- Friends Til the End will be called One Track Mind
- Batteries Included will be called Gaining Steam
Other rewards tied to Chucky, like Prestige rewards and possible quests that allow players to use him, will remain available.
“Hi, I’m Chucky. Wanna play? You have one month to unlock access.”
Behaviour didn’t say exactly why Chucky is being delisted. We can assume the rights are expiring, but whether that’s simply based on the terms of the original deal or if something changed later on is unknown.
For DBD long-timers, this sadly isn’t the first time players have had to say goodbye to a famous face who once appeared in the game. Last December, it was revealed that Michael Myers and his related map would be removed from the game. Since the map was part of a free update, it’s been removed for the entire community. Earlier in 2025, Pinhead from Hellraiser was also delisted. Like Chucky, players who purchased Myers or Pinhead before they disappeared can still use them.
Prior to that, Stranger Things characters Steve and Nancy were delisted in 2021, though they’ve since returned and have been joined by two more characters from Netflix’s tentpole horror series: Dustin and Eleven. Annoyingly, none of them seem to go on sale like all other characters in the game.
Behaviour doesn’t tend to say why characters leave the game. In Halloween’s case, it’s assumed that the rights-holders wanted to funnel people into the Halloween standalone game that debuted a few weeks ago, though Pinhead’s removal for similar reasons would seem a bit odd, since 2026’s Hellraiser: Revival is a single-player game and wouldn’t seem to be in direct competition with DBD the way Halloween arguably is.
As delisting predictions are a popular topic in the game’s subreddit, many DBD fans seemed to expect Freddy Krueger would be next to go, as he never got any cosmetics and the movies are tied up in a strange licensing web that has resulted in two competing A Nightmare on Elm Street movies—one for US audiences and one for international audiences—possibly coming to fruition. For now, though, it seems The Nightmare is safe.
