It’s that time of year when Sony decides to give gamers a breather and ease the strain on our wallets. The company has officially kicked off Days of Play 2026, a global PlayStation event that will run from May 27 to June 10, flooding the platform with deep discounts and a slew of new releases for subscribers. If you’ve been holding back on a title, now’s the moment to make a move.
Capitalizing on the momentum, Sony has also revealed the lineup of monthly titles that will join the Essential tier starting June 2. The roster is diverse, spanning fresh IPs, beloved franchises, and everything in between.
In addition, Sony announced that EA Sports FC 26 will remain available until June 16, and that the massive Destiny 2: Legacy Collection (2025) will be added to the Extra and Deluxe catalogues on June 9. Free cosmetic bundles for Marathon, World of Tanks, and FC 26 will also be dropped, along with generous indie trials—such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33—for the highest‑tier subscribers.
For those who thrive on competitive play, Days of Play is rolling out a series of exclusive tournaments. Participants who compete in titles such as Tekken 8, Mortal Kombat 1, Gran Turismo 7, and Astro Bot will earn a unique avatar and automatically enter a sweepstakes for coveted physical prizes—including the PlayStation Portal, a DualSense Edge controller, and PlayStation Store credit.
Fortnite enthusiasts, however, have the most eye‑catching incentive yet: a grand prize pool of $200,000 up for grabs in a special cup event.
In short, the next two weeks promise nonstop action. Check your wish lists, free up some disk space, and make the most of these Days of Play events while they last.
