Sony’s Bend Studio, one of its less-discussed development houses, has apparently been working on its next title for some time. The game is reportedly set to be announced in 2027 and released that same year.
That’s according to MP1st, citing “people aware of what’s happening at Bend”. Like Days Gone, Bend’s next game is in third-person. The title is said to include co-op support, but no live service elements.
The report doesn’t say whether the game is based on a new IP or an existing one, but it does state that it’s not a sequel to Days Gone. The game is apparently “much further along in development” than we realise, which isn’t entirely surprising considering Bend has been quiet for years.
The seven years since the release of Days Gone in 2019 have been tumultuous for Bend Studio. The developer revealed in 2022 its next project is a new IP that “builds upon the open-world systems of Days Gone” and includes متعدد اللاعبين elements.
Two years later, a job post described a game in development at Bend as a triple-A live service project. That unannounced game was then cancelled in 2025, triggering a wave of layoffs at the studio that took place a few months later. Bend hasn’t said a word since then.
It’s now clear the studio hopped on its next project following the cancellation of that live service game. Seeing as 2026 is nearly over, we’re not likely to be waiting much longer to see that mysterious game unveiled.

Remedy – the developer behind the recently released Control Resonant – has released a scorcher of a quarterly financial report. It shows that following Resonant’s release in September, the company’s revenue surged by 226 percent, bringing in €39.6m in Q3.
This performance was described as “a defining milestone for the company” by CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon. The company reported a €0.6m operating profit this quarter, a fair leap upwards from the €16.4m loss from this time last year.
There are some interesting highlights to this sudden surging performance. For one, the US made up nearly half of Control Resonant’s players across PC and console, followed by Chinese-speaking regions and then the UK.
Perhaps most crucially is that nearly half of Control Resonant’s players were entirely new to the franchise, with the company stating: “Reaching new players was a key goal for this game, and these early results indicate a growing audience for the franchise and for Remedy.”
Control (2019) also saw a bump up in sales thanks to the release of Control Resonant, showing a stronger performance this quarter than the past two quarters this year as well as its comparison period (this quarter last year).
Remedy’s CEO now believes the focus for the studio is to “get Resonant into the hands of more players.” He continues to say the game has provided a solid foundation for growth as other projects (including the Max Payne 1 & 2 remake) are in the works. In short, things appear to be looking rather good for Remedy.
Control Resonant was an artistically impressive but critically divisive game. While many praised the series’ adventure into third person action, some felt it had less of a narrative bite than its predecessor. Nonetheless the game quickly blasted past one million sales after launch.
