A leaker known as Cyberleek has threatened Take-Two Interactive, warning that the studio holds an unpublished copy of GTA 6’s ending and would release it if pressured. The leaker offered to keep the game’s conclusion secret indefinitely, provided Take-Two leaves them alone.
“CL has the ending. It was considered,” the message states. “It would punish Take-Two greatly—but ruin the experience for the gamers, who did nothing wrong. Take-Two would show CL no mercy—why should CL show any to them? Still: Take-Two was punished enough.”

The leaker added that “the ending stays unpublished,” pointing to a recent leak of out-of-context clips from the game’s final missions as evidence. “The dead man’s switch is active—story spoilers only. Left alone, it never fires. Whoever removes CL chooses it.”
A dead man’s switch is generally understood as a mechanism triggered when its operator is incapacitated—a last-ditch safeguard ensuring that harm befalls an opponent if something goes wrong with the person controlling it.

The sudden withdrawal and proposed truce with Take-Two raises questions about whether Cyberleek is facing increased pressure. Take-Two treats leaks of this nature seriously, and GTA 6 is its most anticipated title ever. If caught, the leaker could face significant consequences.
Cyberleek’s leverage, if it exists at all, has a limited lifespan. With six weeks until GTA 6 releases, any threat to withhold the ending becomes moot once the game reaches players.
The leaker also defended a previous request for funds, stating it “was always a donation, never an investment,” and denied that a rugpull had occurred. Cyberleek said it would not release the full build of GTA 6 with complete story mode played to the end.
