Sega has finally revealed a fresh chapter in its classic lineup, unveiling a brand‑new Crazy Taxi title at the Xbox Games Showcase. The teaser trailer, interspersed with gameplay footage, sets the stage with a high‑energy track from The Offspring.
Dubbed Crazy Taxi World Tour, the game promises to be “CRAZIER than ever!” Kenji Kanno, the original director, returns to steer this installment, which will feature five new cities, competitive multiplayer modes, a robust vehicle customization system, and a host of other fresh mechanics.
Axel makes a comeback as the protagonist, now joined by a mysterious driver who invites him to navigate streets across the globe. The plot thickens as masked villains hijack Axel’s taxi, setting the stage for increasingly intense missions and challenges.
Sega highlights the game’s core appeal: “From transporting passengers at breakneck speed to tackling unique side missions and odd jobs across dynamic maps, there are countless ways to drive crazy and rake in big money.” Players will perform outrageous drifts, catch insane air, and race through five distinct cities while delivering passengers and completing a variety of missions and challenges.
The studio has also announced an in‑game Arcade Mode, granting players access to the classic titles that once defined the franchise, promising a wave of nostalgic excitement.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour is set to launch in 2027 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
