Modern Warfare 4 is now live with Call of Duty’s new DMZ extraction mode, where scavenging guns, equipment, and resources is essential to survival. In this guide, we suggest a wide range of locations where you’ll have a strong opportunity to loot valuable resources, guns, keys, and even a chance at one of DMZ’s rare weapon manuals.

All main POIs on Hajin

Hajin has 13 main points-of-interest, but some POIs offer more valuable looting opportunities, depending on what items you’re hoping to scavenge. One of DMZ’s most sought-after items are weapon manuals, which let you unlock new guns to buy and customize in the Gunsmith, but these are very rare random drops. The locations we suggest are places where you have a higher chance of finding them, though they are never guaranteed to spawn.
The Citadel
Chang-san Air Base
The Citadel prison is located in the northwestern region of Hajin, sitting just inside the walls of the Chang-san Air Base. This POI has a mix of critical and extreme threat levels, but it does offer some valuable loot. There is one area in particular that can yield several containers of high-end items, and we’ll give you a route that causes the least amount of resistance from enemy forces.
You can access this area at any time in your match, but we recommend choosing the story mission called Operation Iron Citadel. This saves time by spawning you very close to the POI at the start of your match, and you’ll have an objective marker that leads you to the exact loot room you’ll be looking for.
Follow along the outer wall of the air base, and eventually you’ll see a broken wall you can vault over. Stealth is recommended here, using suppressed weapons or throwing knives to take down any guards you might encounter. However, you shouldn’t run into many guards with this route, assuming you stay quiet and don’t alert the whole base.
Three buildings marked with a green arrow
As shown in the image above, the Citadel has three identical barrack-style buildings. One is marked as the main mission objective. Loot all three of these buildings as stealthily as possible, searching the soldiers’ lockers and duffle bags. These all have a high chance of giving you decent armor vests, high-value printer resources, keys, and weapon manuals.
NuriGO East
NurigoGO Mall
NurigoGO Mall is full of great loot opportunities, but the NuriGO East portion of the POI offers the lowest (medium) threat difficulty. This area has a wide range of items you can find, including guns at the police station, medical supplies at the clinic, and various printer recipes. You can also get lucky with weapon manuals here.
If you venture beyond the ground-level buildings, you’ll need night vision goggles to explore, as there is no electricity in those subterranean sections of the mall.
Cheonwang Peak Array
Cheonwang Peak Array
Cheonwang Peak Array serves as one of Hajin’s smaller POIs, but this central area of the map also provides great loot opportunities. The threat level here is only medium, so this is a much more manageable place to loot than other military POIs or the city’s dangerous Grid location. You can try looting with a solo stealth method, or you can team up with other players to clear the entire base. Either way, loot all the rooms here. There are three rooms with safes you can open, and these offer the potential of finding gold bars, keys, valuable printer resources, and weapon manuals. The other buildings can offer high-end various loot as well.
This is a potential spawn location for Hajin’s minigun-wielding Colossus commander, so you’ll want to keep that in mind as well.
Haneul Nuclear Reactor
Haneul Nuclear Reactor
Haneul Nuclear Reactor is a deadly POI filled with high-tier loot and resources. This is Hajin’s damaged nuclear power plant, which is leaking radioactive vapor. This is one of Hajin’s highest-risk, highest-reward locations, offering the chance of weapon manuals, high-value keys, and high-rarity resources such as the Power Regulators.
Bringing gas masks and radiation blockers is recommended for this area, though eliminating the NPC soldiers will usually let you scavenge additional gas masks. The yellow zones of the power plant will gradually wear down your gas mask’s durability, while the red zone degrades masks considerably faster. Radiation blockers should be used immediately upon entering the yellow zone, as they are ineffective in the red zone, and gas masks can then be stacked up for the time spent exploring closer to the reactor. A suppressed weapon can also help avoid being overwhelmed by NPCs as you move through the area.
Very rare hazmat suits can also be found in the small rooms and hallways within the nuclear stacks, so grabbing one will block out all radiation for a limited time.
The train
While not a main point-of-interest, Hajin’s train still offers an abundance of loot containers for scavenging ammo, printer resources, and even the potential for weapon manuals. Be sure to loot the train thoroughly, as it is very easy to overlook some of the smaller containers sitting on and between the seats.
Compounds
Finally, there are various military compounds marked on your map. These are low-risk areas with decent, though not always high-tier, rewards. Any of these compounds can offer weapons, armored vests, printer resources, keys, and potentially even weapon manuals. Clearing out the enemies completes a Side Ops mission for cash and XP, after which you can scavenge all the buildings for loot.
