With a standout release trailer, Knuckle Creek is a title you absolutely must check out if you love the idea of a slapstick comedy brawler crafted from clay.

How was it made? The developers explained that they used a combination of clay animation, scanned clay models and 3D modelling. Claymatic Game previously made the clay shooter Platypus Reclayed and now they are back with their distinctive style. Here you smack your way through a series of solo stages, or join up with up to eight friends in couch play or online battles.
Released at the end of last month, it seems to have been a bit buried—this is one that just needed a highlight because the style is fantastic, and it looks like a lot of fun.

That song is now a bit stuck in my head.
From the press release: “Last year’s acclaimed clay-animated shmup Platypus Reclayed was our calling card for what we could do as a boutique studio merging game development with stop-motion animation. Utilizing a blend of 3D animation with scanned clay models and traditional stop-motion, Knuckle Creek looks unlike anything else out there,” said Anthony Flack, Lead Game Designer at Claymatic Game. “We know even the best graphics in the world wouldn’t mean much if a game wasn’t fun to play. Knuckle Creek‘s battle mechanics have been honed from hours of intensely competitive multipemain sessions, offering a low barrier to entry but a high skill ceiling. We wanted something fun for the whole family, where players of all ages can have a good time regardless of their skill level going in.”
