Get ready to drop into Modern Warfare 4 with a powerful new addition: a day-one DLC honoring the incredible story of Kyle Carpenter, a Medal of Honor recipient. This isn’t just about gameplay; it’s about paying tribute to a true American hero and supporting fellow veterans.

Honoring a True Hero

The Call of Duty Endowment Valor Pack, launching on October 23 alongside the full game, brings Kyle Carpenter into Modern Warfare 4 as a playable character. Carpenter’s story is one of extraordinary bravery and sacrifice. While serving in Marjah, Afghanistan, on November 21, 2010, he heroically shielded his fellow Marine, Nick Eufrazio, from a grenade explosion. The blast resulted in severe injuries, including the loss of an eye and teeth, and weeks unconscious.

“No matter how wrecked your world gets, the world keeps spinning,” Carpenter said in a video released alongside the announcement. This sentiment perfectly encapsulates his resilience and unwavering spirit.

Supporting Veterans Through Gaming

The Call of Duty Endowment is Activision’s charitable initiative dedicated to supporting military veterans. Their mission focuses on helping soldiers transition back into civilian life by providing resources and opportunities for employment. The proceeds from this new Valor Pack will directly benefit the endowment, making a tangible difference in the lives of those who have served.

This isn’t the first time Call of Duty has partnered with the Endowment to create meaningful content. A previous DLC pack for Black Ops 7 brought real-life soldier Chris Cassidy into the game; his story is equally inspiring, having been involved in the hunt for Osama bin Laden after 9/11 and later becoming a NASA astronaut.

Get Ready to Deploy

Modern Warfare 4 officially launches on October 23. If you’re eager to experience the game and show your support for veterans, keep an eye out for the Call of Duty Endowment Valor Pack. And if you haven’t already, consider participating in the beta, currently available to those who preordered the game. A public beta will be held from August 28th to September 1st, giving everyone a chance to get a taste of what’s to come.
