Розробник House House has explained why its co-operative puzzle game Big Walk will not be coming to Xbox, citing the ongoing Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign as the reason for excluding the console.
In a statement posted to House House social media accounts, the studio said keeping the game off Xbox ran counter to its goals. “It has always been our intention for Big Walk to be played by groups of friends, and we know that keeping the game off Xbox runs counter to those intentions,” it wrote.

We would love for people to be able to play the game on Xbox, but not until Microsoft and/or Xbox have been removed as BDS boycott targets.

The studio added that it made the decision “with the belief that meaningful change can be made in the world, that coordinated collective action can confront even the most powerful interests, and that one day, Palestine will be free.”
The Palestinian-led BDS movement has promoted boycotts of companies backing Israel’s government during what it describes as a genocide in Palestine. Its list of targets includes Disney, Intel and Xbox.

According to Xbox’s inclusion on the list, Microsoft is targeted for its partnership with Israel and its prison system. BDS says the company has provided the country use of its Azure cloud and AI systems, which it claims have been used over recent years in “the ongoing subjugation of Palestinians”.
The movement has urged people to cancel Game Pass subscriptions, boycott franchises including Call of Duty and Candy Crush, and stop buying Microsoft gaming products.
Big Walk has nonetheless proved popular. A game of great merit, the title sold over one million copies in under a week after its release on 4 August.
