Battlefield 6 has come under fire from fans after its latest battle pass was found to include new character skins with some clear design flaws.
The first that stands out is a soldier wearing what appears to be a Batman mask, but minus the ears. He carries five pistols attached to the chest pockets of his tactical vest. One Reddit poster joked about the reasoning behind it: “Because switching to your pistol, secondary pistol, tertiary pistol, quartenary (sic) pistol, and quinary pistol is faster than reloading, soldier!”
BRO IS CARRYING 5 PISTOLS! WHO APPROVED THIS SKIN?
Illogical pistol placement isn’t the only thing weirding fans out. Some are convinced some of the skins were actually created with generative AI, after noticing weird spelling errors and other inconsistencies. One of the skins has a patch that says “secuty” on it, which is presumably supposed to say “security.”
Secuty. It’s AI.
Reddit post on Battlefield 6
“I believe it’s almost impossible to deny anymore that EA/DICE is using AI for the skins in #Battlefield6,” said one X / Twitter poster. “At least in the concept phase — and then anything that looks even remotely ‘cool’ just gets rubber-stamped.” X / Twitter poster made the claim.
IGN has asked EA for comment.
Fps .22s probably take like 2 full mags to kill someone. Not to mention he’s carrying super finicky mags for a .22 varmint rifle.
The bomb disposal juggernaut skin features thick body armor and a completely exposed head, like a cheeky little turtle poking out of its shell. He’s carrying magazines for small game hunting rifles that don’t exist in Battlefield 6.

While it’s possible that these skin issues are the result of human error, fans aren’t giving DICE the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise; AI is perhaps the hottest topic in the video game industry, and with the likes of Fortnite developer Epic Juegos going all-in on generative AI, there is an intense scrutiny and a healthy dose of skepticism around video game assets that contain clear errors, particularly when they cost money to buy.
Elsewhere, fans are feeling misled over the inclusion of more whacky cosmetics. As well as a reactive weapon skin, there are crossover cosmetics with other EA series, allowing Battlefield 6 players to do some Dead Space cosplay. These land ahead of the Battlefield 6 Dead Space event.
It’s not quite Nicki Minaj, but the inclusion of these skins goes back on what the developers said prior to launch. Desarrolladors at DICE had gone on the record to say Battlefield 6 won’t feature goofy, immersion breaking skins.
