Arc Raiders has unveiled its first-ever paid battle pass, the “Frozen Trail” reward track, giving players of Embark Studios’ extraction shooter a new way to earn cosmetic gear. Available now through the in-game reward pass tab as part of the game’s ongoing updates, the 60-tier progression system rewards completion with outfits, weapons attachments, furniture and emotes, while deliberately avoiding any pay-to-win mechanics by keeping every premium item strictly cosmetic.

The introduction of a paid tier marks a notable shift for Arc Raiders, which has historically offered its content largely through free progression. The “Frozen Trail” pass splits into two distinct tracks: a free tier accessible to everyone and an optional premium track that unlocks additional cosmetics for raider tokens. Both tiers can be leveled up by completing feats, the daily challenges listed on the right-hand side of the reward pass tab, with each completed feat granting reward points toward the next unlock.

A New Way to Earn in Arc Raiders

To access the pass, players simply navigate to the “reward pass” tab at the top of the screen. Here they will find both a legacy track containing items from updates prior to “Frozen Trail,” alongside the new “Frozen Trail pass.” Those who only want the free tier can activate it with a single click and begin earning rewards immediately.

The premium track costs 1,150 raider tokens, equivalent to $9.99 in real money. Longtime players will likely already have more than this amount on hand, since raider tokens have always been obtainable through normal gameplay. For those who do need to spend actual currency, the pass effectively pays for itself if completed: players earn back a comparable number of raider tokens as they progress through the tiers.

The premium tier is exclusively cosmetic, so there are no pay-to-win elements here. You can grab some very exciting things in the free tier, like a grappling hook blueprint, stencil parts and even an emperor gateway conduit if you complete the whole thing.

The full reward table spans 60 tiers, with free-tier unlocks beginning at tier one with the Caposta outfit and premium rewards starting alongside it with a set of matching accessories.

Free-tier progression carries players through a wide array of functional and decorative items, including the Basic camera at tier two, the Train whistle backpack attachment at three, and weapons such as the Bantam I hand cannon, Stiletto I battle rifle and Hullcracker IV. Alongside these are grappling hooks, stencil parts, augment upgrades and furniture pieces like a bar table and printed fabric chair.

The premium tier mirrors much of this structure while adding its own exclusive cosmetics across several themed outfit families. Players can unlock additional Capasta, Carriga, Deadwire and Ice Giant outfit variants—complete with accessories, colors, helmets and masks—as well as distinctive hairstyles such as short dreads and slickback neat styles. Premium rewards also include a selection of stencils, including the Fortuna, Sacrifice, Bulwark, Serac and Empyrean designs, plus backpacks like the Steamwright and Hearthkeeper.

The final tier at 9,000 reward points offers one of the most coveted free-tier rewards: the Emperor gateway conduit. Premium players receive an additional 300 raider tokens as their closing reward, reinforcing the sense that spending on the pass is largely a matter of convenience rather than necessity.

Looking Ahead

The “Frozen Trail” reward pass represents Embark Studios’ continued investment in Arc Raiders following its broader launch. With daily feats driving short-term goals and 60 tiers offering long-term ambition, the track is designed to give players a steady stream of content to work toward over time.

As one of the first paid battle passes for the title, it also signals how the studio plans to balance monetization with its free-to-progress ethos. Whether future updates expand on this model or introduce seasonal variants remains to be seen, but for now players have a fully cosmetic, pay-optional way to personalize their raiders without gaining any competitive edge.
