Alienware, Dell’s renowned gaming brand, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this October with a bang – two stunning new OLED gaming monitors designed to deliver exceptional performance and broaden accessibility. While our own Jeremy was previously impressed by Alienware’s tandem OLED technology, these new offerings promise even more.
Speed Demons and Value Picks
During the announcement, head of product Matt McGowan emphasized Alienware’s commitment to “more price points people can actually reach.” The first monitor, the AW2527HX, is aimed squarely at competitive gamers. McGowan calls it Alienware’s “fastest monitor ever,” boasting a blistering 560 Hz refresh rate and an incredibly low 0.03 ms response time.
Co-designed with professional esports players, McGowan stated that “Every detail [of this OLED has been] informed by how pros actually set-up and compete.” Pricing and release details for the AW2527HX OLED will be unveiled in early 2027. This puts Alienware directly into competition with other high-performance monitors like the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace, which was announced last month. While the Asus model boasts a slightly faster response time of 0.02 ms and a higher refresh rate of 720 Hz, Alienware may be aiming to undercut its competitor on price.
The Alienware AW2527HX: Built for competitive gaming with speed as the priority.
The AW2527HX is packed with features designed for esports enthusiasts, including a built-in headset hanger and a matte coating to minimize glare. The Penta-tandem OLED technology ensures exceptional brightness, while RGB Stripe subpixels enhance text clarity and overall image quality.
More Accessible Brilliance: The AW3226Q
Alienware’s second offering, the AW3226Q, is a more versatile option. This 32-inch 4K OLED will arrive this Autumn with a price tag of around $699. While it lacks the tandem OLED technology found in the AW2527HX, it still offers impressive performance and represents excellent value for money. For comparison, our top pick for gaming monitors, the Alienware AW2726DM, is priced higher. The AW2726DM that Jeremy recently reviewed features a ‘5-layer tandem’ QD-OLED (Samsung’s technology), making the AW3226Q a compelling alternative.
The Alienware AW3226Q: A versatile 4K OLED for gaming and everyday use.
The AW3226Q delivers 1,000 nits of peak brightness thanks to its tandem OLED tech. It also features a refresh rate of 160 Hz and the same ultra-fast 0.03 ms response time, along with the enhanced clarity provided by RGB Stripe subpixels. McGowan describes it as “Stunning for gaming and equally impressive for everyday use.” We’re eager to put this versatile monitor through its paces.
