Neil Ross, another veteran of the original 1980s Transformers cartoon, shared his memories: “Peter Cullen was a lovely guy and a prodigious talent. I first met him working on the Pac-Man show for Hanna-Barbera in the early ’80s and we went on to work together on Transformers, G.I. Joe, and many other shows over the years. He was a true gentleman… He had such a great laugh — I’ll miss hearing it.”
David Kaye, who voiced both Megatron and Optimus Prime in various iterations, recalled his initial anxieties about taking on the role: “At first I was like, ‘What? Optimus? I thought I was going to be Megatron.’ Then I thought, ‘Is Peter going to hate me?’” He later shared a touching experience working with Cullen: “Working with him on Transformers: Prime, when I came in as one of the Insecticons… it was such a cool thing for me to be able to be in a project where the three of us were there. It meant the world, being in the same room as Peter.”
