GTA 6 Leaks: Separating Fact from AI Fiction and Fan-Made Vice City Stories PC Ports

Welcome back to Gamer24h.com’s deep dive into the world of Grand Theft Auto! Today, we’re navigating the murky waters of GTA 6 leaks, dissecting how Rockstar Games trailers can be misleading, and celebrating the incredible work being done by fans bringing Vice City Stories to PC.

The AI-Generated GTA 6 Slop

Since August 18th, a deluge of alleged GTA 6 gameplay clips has flooded the internet, courtesy of an anonymous group known as Cyberleek. Rockstar Games has remained tight-lipped, and while Take-Two aggressively removes these leaks from platforms like Twitter and Reddit, they continue to spread like wildfire. However, navigating this landscape requires caution: you’re just as likely to encounter AI-generated content masquerading as genuine leaks.

Twitter seems to be the epicenter of this problem. Searches for “GTA 6 leaks” yield a mixed bag of real footage and blatant AI fabrications. These include videos depicting Lucia in a theme park AI-generated crap and Jason playing basketball. This can be incredibly confusing for players eager for information, as they might mistake these AI creations for legitimate gameplay.

While Facebook isn’t as problematic, I still encountered a fair amount of GTA 6 AI slop being shared as genuine leaks. However, many of these posts didn’t perform well, and commenters quickly identified the content as fake. YouTube channels, both large and small, are covering the leaks, but some are using AI-generated gameplay clips instead of actual footage to avoid potential legal issues. It’s crucial to remember that not all videos clearly distinguish between AI creations, official trailers, and older GTA games.

I can only imagine the frustration this situation causes Rockstar Games developers. Some of this AI-generated GTA gameplay looks convincing at a quick glance, especially on smaller screens. However, the features, locations, and animations shown in these clips are often inaccurate. This leads to confusion among players who might believe these AI creations represent actual content from GTA 6, potentially leading to disappointment and online debates about cut content that never existed.

Fortunately, much of this noise will likely subside once Rockstar Games officially unveils gameplay footage of Grand Theft Auto 6 on August 27th during its Netflix special. However, between now and then, expect a continued stream of misinformation as players desperately seek information and stumble upon these fake leaks without realizing it.

Rockstar’s Trailers: Proceed with Caution

I wanted to address something I’m always hesitant to bring up: Rockstar Games has a history of including elements in trailers that don’t make it into the final game. This isn’s about the current GTA 6 trailers being outright lies, but rather a reminder that they might not represent the complete picture.

As pointed out by insightful Reddit posts GTA V’s first trailer and Red Dead Redemption II, Rockstar has previously tweaked events, characters, or cutscenes to avoid spoilers. They’re also known for adding extra NPCs or cinematic elements like planes flying overhead, which might not be present in the final game.

Keep this in mind as we approach more trailers, teasers, and advertisements for GTA 6. Rockstar will likely try to avoid spoiling major story moments or revealing surprising locations before the game’s November release. Just because you see Jason in a specific location in one trailer or Lucia doing something during a mission in another doesn’t mean you can create a definitive timeline of the game’s narrative. There are likely characters we haven’t seen yet, performing actions we know nothing about, in locations that remain unrevealed (or leaked).

It’s fun to theorize, but be cautious about getting too attached to theories based solely on pre-release footage from Rockstar Games trailers. Like Marvel Studios, these trailers can be misleading.

Fan-Made Vice City Stories PC Port: A Labor of Love

Recently, I was lamenting the fact that one of the best GTA games ever made, Vice City Stories, remains trapped on PSP and PS2. Now, in 2026, there are two separate projects aiming to bring VCS to PC! And both are making impressive progress.

First up is White Trash Games’ “VCS 20th Anniversary Edition.” This team is working on porting the PS2 version of Vice City Stories, which was released in 2007, a year after the original PSP launch. They’re sharing regular updates in their Telegram chat Since announcing the project back in February. The latest update shows a fantastic-looking PC port with keyboard and mouse controls, enhanced textures, and various graphical settings. There’s no release date yet, but I’m excited to check it out.

The second attempt is from a solo developer working on a recompilation of the PSP version. This project seems to be progressing quickly, although it won’t be as feature-rich as the “20th Anniversary” project. However, this recompilation is likely safer from legal action by Take-Two, as it doesn’t contain game files or code. You’ll need your own copy of Vice City Stories on PSP to play the recompilation on PC.

Regardless of which project wraps up first, I’m thrilled that people are working hard to bring Vice City Stories to PC. Rockstar Games seems uninterested in bringing some of its older portable GTA games to modern consoles and PC, so we rely on fan efforts instead. Now, let’s see if anyone will start working on a recompilation of Chinatown Wars for PC.

See You Later!

As I write this, we’re just a week away from the official GTA 6 gameplay reveal on Netflix. I suspect that after that, we’re going to see a lot more marketing and advertisements for GTA 6 as Rockstar ramps up its promotional efforts before the game’s November 19th release. That’s less than 90 days away!

It’s so close now. I’m looking forward to being back soon with another installment of Stealing Cars (or whatever I end up renaming this). In the meantime, let’s enjoy one of the songs heard in the most recent GTA 6 leak.
