The fallout from the recent CEVA Logistics data breach continues to ripple through the gaming world, with Pokémon Center now confirming that some of its UK and German customers have also been affected. This news follows closely on the heels of Valve’s disclosure regarding a similar incident impacting Steam hardware purchases in Europe.
Pokémon Center Confirms Data Breach
CEVA Logistics, a shipping partner for Pokémon Center in Europe, experienced a data breach that has now impacted customers. The company notified affected individuals, stating that some personal information and order details may have been compromised. This includes full names, mailing addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and specifics about the orders themselves.
Fortunately, as with the Valve situation, customer payment and card details were not shared with CEVA Logistics, mitigating a potentially more severe impact. However, the breach has caused significant disruption to Pokémon Center’s operations in the UK.
Customers who placed orders with Pokémon Center in the UK and Germany are being notified of the potential data compromise. The notification mirrors the one sent to Steam hardware customers, but with a crucial difference: Pokémon Center has proactively cancelled the orders of affected customers.

Shipping Delays and Proactive Order Cancellations
The breach is causing delays in processing and shipping orders across the Pokémon Center UK website. A message on the site reads: “We are currently experiencing delays in processing and shipping orders. Some orders may take longer than usual to be dispatched and delivered. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.”
The cyberattack is believed to have occurred between July 29th and August 1st. While Pokémon Center’s notification lacked specific details, the proactive cancellation of affected orders demonstrates a commitment to protecting customer data.
Impact on Highly Anticipated Products
The timing of this breach couldn’t be worse for many fans. The cancelled orders include highly anticipated products related to the recent Pokémon 30th-anniversary celebrations. While customers are encouraged to place new orders, there is no guarantee that the desired items will still be in stock.
