===Marathon Ordnance Heist: A Race Against Time for a Fleeting Firestorm!===

[Get ready to raid, scavenge, and sprint in Marathon’s new limited-time event!]

Bungie is rolling out a fresh wave of content for Marathon players with the launch of “Ordnance Heist,” a multi-run event designed to test your skills and reward you with a powerful, albeit temporary, weapon: the Firestorm. While not introducing any groundbreaking mechanics, Ordnance Heist focuses on strategic map traversal and resource management across multiple runs.

The Hunt for the Firestorm Begins!

Ordnance Heist kicks off with a scavenger hunt across familiar maps. You’ll need to head into Perimeter to acquire UESC Manifests and key templates. The tougher enemies you defeat, the better your chances of snagging those valuable templates. These templates then unlock embedded objectives that must be completed on Dire Marsh, both during the day and night cycles. Successfully exfiltrating with a completed template transforms it into a Firestorm Locker Key.

The real challenge begins when you need to collect three of these keys. Once you’re armed with all three, it’s a mad dash to find a Firestorm Locker on either Perimeter, Dire Marsh, or Outpost. Expect fierce competition as other players are also vying for the same prize! And remember, death in Ordnance Heist means losing everything you’ve collected, so stealth and speed are your best allies.

Claim Your Prize: The Firestorm!

Successfully locating and opening a Firestorm Locker rewards you with the coveted Firestorm. This is Marathon’s first power weapon, unleashing explosive rounds that can quickly dispatch enemies. It comes equipped with three custom contraband mods: a sniper scope for precision shots, a chip that makes those rounds even more devastatingly explosive, and a custom magazine holding only six shots. Once you’ve emptied the magazine, you’re out of luck – no reloads! This makes the Firestorm a powerful but risky tool, best used as a last resort.

Unfortunately, the Firestorm is not meant to be kept. Upon exfiltration, it converts into credits. However, the UESC Manifests you collect throughout the event can also be used to purchase up to two key templates per day, as well as other rare and powerful items to aid your runs. Ordnance Heist runs from August 18th at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm BST until September 1st at the same time. After that, the Firestorm will “persist as a possible drop in Supply Drops on Zones that feature them,” according to blog post“>this blog post. While the event might seem like a lot of effort for a temporary weapon, it offers a unique and challenging experience for Marathon players looking for a new way to test their skills.
