Get ready for a story that’s both hilarious and iconic! Deborah Ann Woll, who plays Faye in the highly anticipated PS5 game God of War: Laufey, had quite the memorable first day on set. At San Diego Comic-Con, she recounted how she accidentally broke a famous prop from The Last of Us due to her sheer strength – a moment that’s now captured on video.
A Prophecy Fulfilled (Sort Of)
“Unbeknownst to me, this was a very famous prop that they had used on The Last of Us,” Woll explained. She joked that it was “some sort of sporting equipment.” It turns out, it was indeed a golf club prop – and you can probably guess what happened next…
“They gave it to me and I was supposed to use it like an axe. And I broke it,” Woll said with a laugh. The video shows the moment of impact, followed by audible gasps from the crew.
Director’s Cut: “Hot Damn, Let’s Go!”
Game director Ariel Lawrence added her own commentary: “She swung it so hard, it cracked. And it echoed throughout the volume. And we were like, ‘Hot damn, let’s go.’” This anecdote perfectly encapsulates the blend of intensity and humor that players can expect from God of War: Laufey.
God of War: Laufey is slated for release on PS5 in February 2027. The game features an all-star cast, including Jack Quaid as Phranque, a gelatinous cube character. Following Laufey, another Kratos-led adventure is planned, promising to continue the epic saga where Laufey leaves off.
