Halloween: The Game Will Now Get A Digital Release In New Zealand

Following the high‑profile ban of Halloween: The Game in Australia and New Zealand last week, the developer’s official X page has issued a new update confirming that the title will now be accessible on digital storefronts across New Zealand.

The company clarified that it received further guidance from New Zealand’s Office of Film and Literature Classification, which confirmed that the game can be sold digitally within the country.

In its statement, the studio explained that when it partnered with physical distributors for Australia and New Zealand, the Australian Classification Board (ACB) rating—used for physical releases—had priority over the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) rating applied to digital versions.
