Pokémon Go’s yearly marathon event runs as “Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek” from Oct. 13-19, featuring the Pokémon Go debut of Bramblin, the tumbleweed Pokémon, along with the launch of Super Max Manectric.
Starting with this event, Manectric can be Mega Evolved to Super Max Level (the fourth tier) for the first time. When Mega Evolved, Mega Manectric will know the move Discharge+, even if it is not at max level.
The event also includes a Go Pass with 30 ranks and 30 additional bonus ranks. Players can level up the Go Pass by winning raids, catching Pokémon, and hatching eggs, while completing daily tasks to “use an Incense” and “explore 1 km” for 50 points each.

How to catch Bramblin in Pokémon Go
Bramblin can be found during the event as an Incense spawn, or as a reward at rank 30 and 60 in the event Go Pass. Players who upgrade to the deluxe pass will receive an additional encounter at both level 30 and 60.
The Pokémon is also a potential reward for the “earn a candy exploring with your buddy” Field Research task. Bramblin evolves into Brambleghast using 50 Bramblin Candy, but players must first set it as their buddy and walk 20 km with it before evolving.
Bramblin is not available in shiny form yet.
Go Pass bonuses
The Go Pass unlocks event bonuses at certain milestones. Reaching rank 10 grants a 2x Incense duration, while rank 20 provides 5x Mega Energy when exploring with Electrike or Manectric as your buddy after Mega Evolving Manectric at least once.
Timed Research and rewards
The “Fall Marathon” Timed Research requires players to explore a total of 78 km across four steps—5 km, 10 km, 21 km, and 42 km—with each step rewarding 4,200 XP. Completing the research before the event ends grants a Pikachu (marathon visor) encounter.
Field Research tasks
Spinning a PokéStop during the event may yield one of several tasks: earning a candy by exploring with your buddy for an Electrike or Bramblin encounter, exploring 1 km for a Doduo, Cacnea, or Electrike encounter, exploring 3 km for 25 Manectric Mega Energy or 1 Rare Candy, or spinning a PokéStop not previously visited for the same rewards.
Boosted spawns
Ponyta, Doduo, Electrike, Skarmory, and Blitzle will spawn more frequently during the event. Additionally, Incense spawns vary by day: Galarian Ponyta (Oct. 13-16), Hisuian Growlithe (Oct. 16-19), Hoppip (Oct. 13-16), Nincada (Oct. 16-19), Electrike, Dwebble (Oct. 13-16), Helioptile (Oct. 16-19), and Bramblin.
Electrike and Bramblin will spawn from Incense throughout the entire event. Certain Pokémon marked with an asterisk have an increased chance of appearing as shiny in the wild during the event.
